Bingham Grange Caravan and Motorhome Club Site

A very last minute decision to take off in the 'twin'. We found ourselves in West Dorset near Bridport at a site formerly known as Bingham Grange Touring Site for adults only, has now been taken over by the Caravan and Motorhome Club Site and will probably be changed to accommodate families.
We had often thought about staying at this site and very glad we have experienced a stay before the changes.

We were allocated a hard standing pitch with hedges 3 sides, and a strip of grass,  our ideal pitch, with some privacy. The facilities are excellent, there are individual shower rooms with basin and toilet and the more traditional block of showers etc (with gents and ladies separate). All in all, the site is set out in a very attractive way using a lot of planting and having the bonus of stunning views from some of the pitches.

We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed some lovely warm weather. There is a very good bus service to Bridport that we took advantage of and had a leisurely walk around the town. The second day, we followed a circular trail from the site, which we have calculated that it must have been about 8 miles, although the instructions stated 6 miles. Maybe, the extra mileage was trying to avoid the frisky young cows we encountered. On one occasion, a farm worker escorted us through a herd, waving her broom!

Rowland's Wait Touring Park

Saturday, 12th May

Weather is looking good, decided at short notice to take off in the ‘twin’
We chose a site at Bere Regis, called Rowland's Wait Touring Park. Very friendly welcome from the owners and stunning views across Dorset.
Lots of trails from the site, which was ideal for us. Facilities a little dated but that will not deter us returning.

Ilminster Caravan and Motorhome Club Site

April 23 2018

Weather still pretty good so decided to check into a site near Ilminster, just off the A303. Ideal for a short stay stop-off. Stayed one night.

Birthday celebration at Devizes

Friday, 20th April 2018

Our first trip out in our twin at long last! Managed to get a pitch at Devizes Camping and Caravanning. We had a celebratory meal at the Three Magpies and Pen and Martha met up with us at the site on the Sunday, a lovely warm day, we walked along the Kennet and Avon canal and climbed the Caen Hill Locks, a flight of 29 locks. With a very welcomed tea room at the top!
